Pembroke Welsh Corgis are no longer used to drive cattle to pasture. However, their herding skills can be exercised and proven in herding tests and trials. Welsh Corgis drive the cattle forward by nipping at the heels when it is necessary. They do not run around the livestock to gather the cattle. Welsh Corgis work the herd from behind.
